Day 1: Arrival and Drive to Tarangire National Park
You will be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transferred to the magnificent Tarangire National Park. The park is renowned for its large elephant herds that gather around the permanent Tarangire River, especially during the dry season.
Your afternoon game drive will also reveal a landscape of ancient baobab trees and a wide variety of other wildlife.
Day 2: Full Day in Tarangire National Park
Spend a full day in Tarangire, allowing you to delve deeper into its diverse ecosystems. You will explore different areas of the park, including the Silale Swamp, which is a magnet for animals and offers excellent opportunities for bird watching.
The day is dedicated to finding lions, leopards, and other predators that stalk the plains, as well as experiencing the sheer size of the elephant herds.
Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart Tarangire and drive to the Serengeti, making a scenic journey through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive is an adventure in itself, with opportunities to see Maasai villages and stunning landscapes.
Upon arrival, you will have a game drive en route to your camp in the central Seronera region, a prime wildlife habitat.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
A full day is dedicated to the Serengeti, providing you with ample time to explore its vast landscapes and incredible wildlife.
Your morning and afternoon game drives will focus on key areas to spot the “Big Five” and witness the spectacular Great Migration, depending on the time of year. Your experienced guide will navigate the plains, ensuring an unforgettable safari experience.
Day 5: Another Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Today, you will have another full day of game drives in the Serengeti. This extra day allows for a more relaxed pace and the opportunity to visit different parts of the park, such as the Mara River in the north or the Moru Kopjes in the central region.
This is your best chance to see a wide variety of animals and capture stunning photographs.
Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The route is scenic, offering views of the highlands and the iconic crater rim.
You will have the option to visit Olduvai Gorge, known as the “Cradle of Mankind,” before settling into your lodge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Tour & Transfer to Lake Manyara
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a thrilling half-day game drive. The crater floor is a
haven for wildlife, with a high chance of seeing the elusive black rhino. After a picnic lunch, you
will ascend the crater walls and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is famous for its
tree-climbing lions and a diverse landscape of acacia forests and wetlands.
Day 8: Lake Manyara Game Drive and Departure
Enjoy a final morning game drive in Lake Manyara, where you can see a variety of wildlife including giraffes, elephants, and hippos, as well as an incredible array of birdlife, particularly lamingos on the lake shore. After the game drive and a leisurely lunch, your driver will transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure.
