Day 2: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Samburu National Reserve in Kenya’s arid northern region. This is a chance to see unique species found only in this area, including the Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and gerenuk.
An afternoon game drive will introduce you to the area’s rich biodiversity. You will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full Day in Samburu
Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Samburu, Shaba, and Buffalo Springs reserves. The Ewaso Ng’iro River, which runs through the park, provides a lifeline for the animals and is a great spot for game viewing.
You can witness elephants bathing and other wildlife congregating by the water. The day concludes with a visit to a Samburu village for a cultural encounter.
Day 4: Samburu to Mount Kenya Region
Following a morning game drive and breakfast, you will drive to the Mount Kenya region. The journey offers stunning views of Mount Kenya, Africa’s second-highest peak.
Upon arrival, you can relax at your lodge and enjoy the serene surroundings and cooler climate. Some lodges offer the unique experience of viewing wildlife from your room or a communal balcony
Day 5: Mount Kenya to Lake Nakuru
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, known for its vast numbers of flamingos and as a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos.
The drive takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you will have an afternoon game drive where you can also spot lions, leopards, and other animals. You will check into your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara
After breakfast, you will leave Lake Nakuru and head to the final destination, the Masai Mara. The drive to the Mara is breathtaking, with stops for photos at key points.
Arrive in time for lunch and then head out for an afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara offers the pinnacle of game
viewing, with vast herds of animals and an excellent chance of spotting predators.
Day 7: Full Day in Masai Mara
Today is a full-day adventure in the Masai Mara, exploring its diverse habitats and searching for the Big Five. Your guide will take you to the Mara River, where you can watch hippos and crocodiles.
The day is spent on game drives with a picnic lunch in the bush. You can also opt for a hot air balloon safari for a truly unique and memorable experience.
Day 8: Departure
After a final breakfast, you will have a last game drive on your way out of the park before beginning the journey back to Nairobi. The drive is an excellent opportunity to reflect on your eight-day safari adventure.
You will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight, filled with memories of the amazing wildlife and landscapes.
