Day 1: Arrival and Drive to Tarangire National Park
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met and transferred to Tarangire National Park. Known for its massive herds of elephants and majestic baobab trees, the park offers a scenic backdrop for your afternoon game drive.
You will have a chance to spot a variety of wildlife along the Tarangire River before settling into your lodge.
Day 2: Full Day in Tarangire National Park
A full day is dedicated to exploring Tarangire’s diverse habitats. You will embark on both morning and afternoon game drives, which may include a visit to the extensive Silale Swamp, a great spot for birdwatching and seeing predators.
The extra time allows for a more comprehensive exploration of the park’s elephant, lion, and cheetah populations.
Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park
After a final morning game drive in Tarangire, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but stunningly beautiful park at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.
The afternoon game drive will take you through a lush acacia forest where you may spot tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and a variety of monkeys and birds.
Day 4: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara before departing for the Serengeti. The journey is an adventure in itself, passing through the Ngorongoro highlands and the famous Olduvai Gorge, where early human fossils were discovered. You will arrive at your camp in the central
Seronera region of the Serengeti in time for an afternoon game drive.
Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
You will spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti, known for the GreatMigration. Your morning and afternoon game drives will focus on finding a wide variety of animals, including the “Big Five” and numerous plains game.
The day is designed to fully immerse you in the raw beauty and scale of this iconic national park.
Day 6: Another Full Day in Serengeti National Park
An extra day in the Serengeti allows you to explore different areas of the park, such as the Grumeti Game Reserve or the northern part of the park, depending on the season and the location of the Great Migration.
This is an excellent opportunity to focus on finding specific animals and experiencing the different ecosystems within the Serengeti.
Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a final game drive in the Serengeti, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a scenic drive that offers views of the highlands.
Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge on the crater rim. The evening is yours to relax and enjoy the spectacular views as you prepare for the next day’s descent.
Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Tour and Drive to Lake Eyasi
An early start takes you down into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater floor is a wildlife paradise, home to a high concentration of animals.
After a picnic lunch, you will ascend the crater and drive to Lake Eyasi for a cultural experience. Here, you will have a chance to meet and learn from the local Hadzabe and Datoga tribes.
Day 9: Lake Eyasi Cultural Experience and Transfer to Arusha
Rise early to join the Hadzabe Bushmen on a morning hunt, an incredible opportunity to learn about their ancient way of life. After this unique experience, you will visit the Datoga tribe, known for their metalwork.
You will then begin your drive back to Arusha, where you can relax at your lodge before your departure
Day 10: Departure from Arusha
Depending on your flight schedule, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast or explore Arusha. A transfer will be arranged to take you to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure flight, concluding your unforgettable 10-day Tanzania safari.
